The EXI-600 is ACCU-SCOPE’s flagship inverted microscope for life science research applications.  The intelligent frame of the EXI-600 knows the objective and fluorescence filter cube position and light intensity and displays them right on the front of the microscope so you can work with confidence.  With 3 camera ports and multiple light path selections, you can select the camera and port that are most suitable for your imaging application.  The EXI-600 also supports the most common contrast methods for research microscopy: brightfield, phase contrast, differential interference contrast (DIC), modulation contrast and fluorescence.  As with most research microscopes, the EXI-600 can be customized using third-party accessories.

Live Cell Observation

The modularity and stability of the EXI-600 make it an ideal platform for Live Cell Imaging. A variety of third-party accessories instantly transform the EXI-600 into an advanced multi-channel fluorescence imaging solution. Choose from a selection of LED fluorescence illuminators, motorized XYZ components, filter wheels, antivibration tables, environmental chambers and cameras to perform techniques such as time-lapse imaging, Z-stacks, automatic scanning of well plates, stitching, and more.

Intelligent Frame

The EXI-600 features an intelligent frame that reports objective position, filter wheel turret position and  illumination level on the front LCD display.  Users can choose the objective magnifications to show for the nosepiece and the filter sets to display for the filter turret.  Preset the transmitted light intensity for each objective and avoid the bright light often encountered when switching from high magnification to low magnification.

Multiple Contrast Methods to Fit Your Work

Fluorescence – The EXI-600’s core fluorescence components provide the foundation for exceptional fluorescence imaging. The filter cube turret holds up to 6 filter cubes – keep one position open for observation with a contrast method other than fluorescence.  Customize the EXI-600 with a variety of third-party accessories (e.g., filter sets, light source,  filter wheels, shutters) for your specific application.

Phase Contrast – View your unstained live cells under Phase Contrast. Available with objectives from 4X to 60X. Multi-application condenser comes standard with Ph1 and Ph2 (Ph3 or PhL is optional).  Phase contrast is ideal for checking the condition of your cells in culture, and phase contrast images can be used as a reference layer in composite fluorescence images.

Modulation Contrast –
High contrast technique produces a 3-dimensional effect when observing unstained living cells in glass or plastic-bottom tissue culture vessels. Modulation contrast was developed especially for micromanipulation and microinjection in Assisted Reproduction Technology including IVF.  Specialized objectives and a condenser ensure optimal performance.

Nomarski Differential Interference Contrast (DIC) –
High resolution and high contrast observation method for viewing unstained, transparent specimens. DIC is often used with micromanipulation, microinjection and patch clamping, and DIC images are suitable for use as a reference layer in composite fluorescence images.  Due to the optical nature of plastic, DIC is not suitable for use with plastic-bottom tissue culture vessels.  If you must use plastic-bottom tissue culture vessels, please consider modulation contrast as an alternative contrast method.

With its high degree of configurability, the EXI-600 can support many advanced microscopy applications including Micromanipulation and Electrophysiology.  The frame is exceptionally stable and ready to accept micromanipulation accessories for applications such as IVF, Stem Cell, transgenics and other studies involving microinjection.

The EXI-600’s incredible stability and available contrast methods make the EXI-600 a great option for electrophysiology applications. Add electrophysiology accessories from your favorite third-party suppliers and start recording.

Use our C-mount adapters to couple your cameras quickly and easily to the microscope.  Change between cameras and the eyepieces using the light selector wheel and slider.
